Colin Farrell List

Since I've been making my way through Colin Farrell's backlist lately, I figured it was time I made a list with my ratings and thoughts. I've been watching at least a couple movies a week, but it's still gonna take me awhile lol But anyway, list below the cut!

ETA 9/25/17: Watched Cassadra's Dream and Winter's Tale.

The Beguiled | ★★★☆☆
Weird and not at all what I was expecting. But overall fairly enjoyable.

The Killing of a Sacred Deer

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them | ★★★☆☆
Surprisingly boring lol I found it rather slow, but I did really like Jacob. I'd actually gotten really into the fandom long before watching it (I've read almost all the Credence/Original Graves fics on AO3), so I think it was just kind of disappointing after that.

True Detective

The Lobster | ★★☆☆☆
I was kind of disappointed with this. I feel like it could have been good, but mostly I just found it weird and slightly disturbing.

Miss Julie | ★★☆☆☆
I... honestly barely had any idea of what was going on in this movie. The script was pretty terrible, though the acting wasn't exactly stellar either imo.

Winter's Tale | ★★★★☆
I really enjoyed this one. The magical realism aspect of the world was really interesting, though there were parts I wish they'd delved into more.

Saving Mr. Banks | ★★★★★
Loved this movie! One of the best Colin Farrell movie I've seen so far, and I really hadn't thought I'd like it that much bc I'm not really into Disney.

Epic | ★★★★★
This movie was so so good! Ronin was one of my favorite characters, and that was even before I knew who Colin Farrell was lol

Dead Man Down

Seven Psychopaths | ★★★★☆
A strange movie, but I actually enjoyed it. It was pretty amusing and the psychopaths were really interesting.

Total Recall | ★★★★☆
Pretty good movie. V different from the original, but I think I liked this one better tbh.

Fright Night

Horrible Bosses

London Boulevard

The Way Back | ★★★★☆
Not generally my kind of movie, though it was less of a war movie than I thought. I actually got really emotional about the end lol

Crazy Heart

Ondine | ★★★★★
I really loved this movie! I had a bit of a hard time understanding the thick Irish accents, but the story and acting was fantastic.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

Pride and Glory

In Bruges | ★★★☆☆
A bit weird, but I really liked Colin Farrell's character in this.

Cassandra's Dream | ★★★☆☆
Not what I'd expected coming into it, but not terrible. Colin Farrell's character was suitably pathetic, and I enjoyed Ewan McGregor as well, so that was nice.

Miami Vice | ★★★☆☆
Pretty good movie overall, and I was pleasantly surprised that the female love interests weren't fridged lol

Ask the Dust

The New World | ★★★☆☆
A solid meh. The story and acting were alright, but the editing was a bit choppy and confusing.

A Home at the End of the World

Seen it but don't really remember it. Going to rewatch.

Veronica Guerin

The Recruit | ★★★☆☆
Enjoyable, though pretty dated for a spy movie now.

Phone Booth | ★★★★☆
Pretty good. I enjoyed the small scope of it, though it was certainly very dated lol

Minority Report
Seen it but don't really remember it. Going to rewatch.

Hart's War

American Outlaws

Ordinary Decent Criminal

Love in the 21st Century

The War Zone

Falling for a Dancer

Drinking Crude

The Disappearance of Finbar

Frankie Starlight

Loved Ondine!

New World had a lot of potential but then it got so weird.
Yeah, that was my thought as well. It could have been good but it... mostly wasn't lol
When I watched Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them with the family, we agreed that it felt like it went on for twelve hours. Colin Farrell is easily the best thing in it.
It really did! I don't know if I would have been able to make it through without Colin Farrell and alcohol lol But I did end up really liking Jacob, so that was nice.
The ones you already rated I don't think I have seen either one of them but once again I can only recommend Alexander as I have SO much love for that movie and the chemistry between Colin and Jared :)
I started watching Alexander, but I've only made it about halfway through so far I think!
