Dear Space Swap Writer

Dear Space Swap writer,

Thank you so much for writing for me!

If you'd like to stalk me during the exchange, I mainly hang around tumblr besides here. On my AO3 you can see the fics I've bookmarked if that helps give you ideas or in figuring out the things I like, or you can check out my fic rec masterlist (still in progress) that may be easier to maneuver. And always feel free to ask if you have questions or want me to expand on anything!

All of this is totally optional, but I know a lot of the time it helps to have some direction to go in, so I've included some likes, dislikes, prompts, and squee for your inspiration. Include whatever you like or none if nothing I mention suits your fancy! Go wild! I'm up to date on everything, so no need to worry about spoilers.

Likes and Dislikes
Tbh, I'm really easy. I will read pretty much anything and my likes run the gamut from "totally normal" to "rare and kind of bizarre" to "probably squicks a lot of people." So whatever you can come up with, chances are good that I'll like it! If it's something not listed under dislikes, then feel free to give it a try if you like, even if it's not one of my specific likes. Which I kind of go on about, sorry not sorry...

fluff, AUs (coffee shop, college, high school, supernatural creatures, thieves/con artists, whatever ya got I'll probably love it), pining, fake/pretend relationships, antagonistic relationships that turn into love, kid fic, characters suddenly realizing they've been in love all along, domesticity/family, communication by snark, codependent friendships, get togethers, soulmates, adoptive parent-child relationships, queer/trans/genderqueer/etc. characters, magic, steampunk, road trips, tattoos/piercings/body mods, ghosts and monsters, arranged marriage, smoking, vegan food, cuddling, dealing with addiction, magical realism, epistolary

intelligence kink, language kink, competency kink, breeding/impregnation kink, BDSM (especially aftercare), rimming, tentacles, double penetration, sloppy seconds, dubcon/noncon, dirty talk, xeno, chub love, wing kink, D/S, bestiality (sentient/partly human or not), gangbang, daddy kink, non-human genitalia, oviposition, praise kink, mpreg (ok with incest and bestiality), watersports, messy sex, anal, creampie, doggy style, rough sex, incest, size difference, first time, age difference, prostitution, sex toys, telepathic sex, sexual slavery, made them do it, cock warming, underage

major character death, 1st and 2nd person POV, cancer fic, abuse in main pairings, infidelity, animal death/torture, zombies, suicide, crossovers (i.e. meeting the characters), recreational drug use, noir AUs, time travel

scat, vomit, vore, amputation, lactation, unbirthing

I'll try not to put particular emphasis on any of them as I'd love to get something for whatever you feel most comfortable writing, so how much description or squeeing I do has no bearing on how much I want any of them! The prompts are only there for inspiration, don't feel like you have to do one of them if you have something else in mind. I’ve also included optional ships for some of my requests, which you can add in secondarily if you want or ignore altogether. For all fandoms, I've requested fanfiction, but art would be awesome for treats as well. Feel free to add in other characters into the background/side pairings as you like :)

[The Chronicles of Riddick]The Chronicles of Riddick
I love these movies so much. They provide such a broad and complicated world, but somehow each movie feels kind of insular, and I really like that about them. The worlds and creatures were just so interesting, especially Furya and the elementals. I also found the science and mercenary outposts fascinating, so I’d love to see something about those.

Richard B. Riddick
I find Riddick to be a really fascinating character. He’s definitely not a good person, but he certainly has his own code of conduct and set of morals, and I think that’s very interesting. I’d love to see something about how he came to be such a hunted man, like what led up to that and where. I’d also really like to see something about his heritage, maybe him finally making it to Furya or just learning more about where he came from and how he’s different from the other humans.

  • Riddick/Fry

  • Riddick/William Johns

  • Riddick/Boss Johns

  • Riddick’s first time in prison.

  • Riddick discovers he’s practically immortal.

  • Riddick is captured and experimented on, leaving him with strange mutations.

[Star Trek: AOS]Star Trek: AOS
I've watched Star Trek 2009 probably more than a dozen times and I still hope every time that Gaila will somehow survive, so fix it fic is something I'd especially love to see. I’m, however, not a big fan of Into Darkness, so please feel free to ignore that movie’s very existence. There's so much exciting stuff to explore, especially with Star Trek Beyond and everything new it brought in. Please no Mirror Verse stuff!

Jim Kirk & Winona Kirk
Since the first movie, I've been wondering where she was during everything. We see her at the beginning, but not again, and I'd really love to see something about what she was doing all that time and what her relationship with Jim is like. Did she take a deep space post and has no contact with him? Is their relationship strained but has regular communication? What does she think about everything he’s accomplished? And what does he think about her?

  • Jim/Spock

  • Gaila/Winona

  • Winona mends her relationship with Jim after he returns from the destruction of Vulcan.

  • Jim and Winona run into each other at a Starfleet function.

Jim Kirk/Spock
These two are so great. I love all the ups and downs of their relationship and how they’ll literally die for each other if necessary. I’d love to see more about them both at Starfleet Academy, especially AUs where they meet aside from the Kobayashi Maru. Or AUs where they meet earlier and realize immediately that they’re t’hy’la. I’d rather not have Nyota demonized, so please either ignore their relationship or make her and Spock’s breakup mutual or at least not terrible.

  • Jim and Spock get trapped in the turbolift together.

  • As soon as Jim saw Professor Spock, he knew they were meant to be.

  • Five times Jim and Spock got married and one time the Federation actually recognized their marriage.

Worldbuilding: Effects of Vulcan’s destruction
I’m so interested by what effects here are from Vulcan’s destrection, on everything from the remaining Vulcans to the Federation to Starfleet to Spock in particular. I feel like we just didn’t get much about that from the movies, and that’s a shame. Where do the Vulcans resettle? Do they, or do they just spread out onto other Federation planets? What’s the new Vulcan like and does it create in changes in their culture? Is there an effect on the Federation economy or in the way Starfleet operates? But the biggest thing I’d be interested in knowing more about is the effect on Vulcans themselves. They’re a psyonically connected race, so feeling so many of their species die all at once must have been hard. Is there a major mental health crisis afterward? Do they have counselors and healers, especially for those with personal bonds that were broken? How do they deal with those who no longer have their mates or their betrothed? There’s just so much to explore.

[Star Trek: Deep Space Nine]Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
This is my favorite ST series tbh. I really love all the characters and all the relationships, plus DS9 is such a fun setting. I love the idea of a hub for all kinds of aliens to come through and interact, which is something this show does really well. I’m on s4 at the time of writing this, so I don’t know some things that have happened that I might otherwise include here, but I am planning to finish watching by reveals :)

Elim Garak/Julian Bashir
I came into this show expecting to ship Bashir and Garak, and I was so not disappointed. They are kind of ridiculously adorable and all of their interactions are a delightful mix of awkward and cute. I love that Garak never quite says what he means, leaving it to Bashir to figure out, and I can really see that continuing in their romantic relationship. I feel like they’d be a lot of fun, and also, I am sooo interested in Cardassian biology. I’m sure Bashir is too.

  • Dax sets up a blind date for Bashir, who is shocked when his date turns out to be Garak.

  • Garak and Bashir’s weekly lunches turn into real dates.

  • Bashir introduces Garak to the rest of the officers as his boyfriend.

Nog/Jake Sisko
Honestly, these two are childhood sweethearts who live happily into old age together and I love it. I’d love to see how they go from friends to dating. Was it just a gradual thing that neither really noticed until it had happened? Did one of them have a sudden revelation? Who else knows about their relationship? I can so see them going on dates around the station and everyone either being super (uncomfortably) supportive or just fondly rolling their eyes. Also, something about them having a long distance relationship once Nog joins Starfleet would be awesome, or where Jake goes to visit him at the Academy. Basically I just want these two ridiculously in love and still amazing best friends.

  • Their first kiss happens in one of Quark’s holosuites.

  • Nog introduces his new Academy friends to his boyfriend.

  • Jake and Nog on their weekly communication while Nog’s away on earth.

I am so in love with the antagonism between these two, and how they’re also basically each other’s best friends and they’re always relying on each other for everything. I always feel like theirs is one of the most interesting and complicated dynamics, and I really do enjoy that. I would love to see more of that, and if things change behind closed doors. How much does Odo watch Quark and is it all in the guise of security? Does Quark ever do/get something sketchy in order to make Odo happy? Them trying to balance that kind of thing could be really fun.

  • Quark convinces Odo to pretend to be his husband to avoid an old flame who’s visiting the station.

  • Odo thinks Quark is doing something illegal, but he’s just preparing a special date.

  • Odo convinces Quark to use the holosuite with him.

Worldbuilding: Cardassian and human courtship customs, Worldbuilding: Cardassian culture
Cardassians are my favorite aliens on DS9, possibly even in all of Star Trek. I just find them so interesting and intriguing (and attractive lbr, but that’s my weird kink lol). I’d love to see more of the things we only get hints of in the show, more of the kinds of things everyone else, especially the Federation, may not know. Family is really important to them, but what are family dynamics really like? What is Cardassian schooling and military education like? What kind of celebrations and holidays and stories do they have? How do they chose a mate? Bajoran mates are obviously frowned upon, but what about other species? Especially human obviously. What’s their reproduction like? Feel free to focus on the culture as a whole or canon Cardassians or OCs, whatever you like. Just give me everything about these beautiful, creepy, scaly assholes!

[Stargate Atlantis]Stargate Atlantis
I love this show mostly for John and Rodney's relationship, although Atlantis and Pegasus galaxy are both fascinating as well. John is my favorite because he's so ridiculously emotionally constipated and self-sacrificing, and being a dorky flyboy doesn't hurt either. I love all the different cultures in the Pegasus galaxy and how there’s always new and interesting things to explore in the city and the galaxy.

John Sheppard/Rodney McKay
I love how codependent John and Rodney are and how well they work together. They go from strangers to best friends (willing to shoot each other) so quickly, and I so enjoy that. IT makes me happy that they can fight side by side and lead the city and play games together, they basically just live in each other’s pockets. In canon I definitely see John pining after an oblivious Rodney. I really like the idea of them going so long without realizing they’re already practically dating, or everyone else thinking they’re dating before they actually are.

  • An electrical malfunction leaves John and Rodney trapped in a puddle jumper together.

  • John and Rodney end up married when the natives of a new planet misconstrue their relationship.

  • John takes Rodney on a stargazing date.

[Star Wars Sequel Trilogy]Star Wars Sequel Trilogy
Most of my interest in Star Wars is in the First Order tbh. I really enjoy exploring the dynamics of the First Order and seeing all the different places in the galaxy. I’d love to see something that goes a lot further than the movie, in terms of worldbuilding and character. I really enjoyed TFA, but I hated TLJ, so feel free to ignore anything and everything from there.

Armitage Hux/Kylo Ren
Hux and Kylo are my favorite kind of antagonistic and I really enjoy the way they play off of each other. I would love to see how they met. Were they immediately at each other’s throats or did that come later? I’m always up for them meeting outside the First Order too, like hooking up at a bar or both being at some political event or whatever. I also really like Hux being the more controlling, dominant one in their relationship, though a more equal relationship is also perfectly fine. I don’t tend to mention top/bottom preferences as it doesn’t usually matter a whole lot to me, but if you do smut, please have Kylo bottoming.

  • Hux and Kylo's relationship falls apart once Snoke learns about it and it becomes a violent competition instead.

  • Modern AU with Hux and Kylo in a 24/7 BDSM relationship.

  • Leia and Snoke arrange a marriage between Kylo and Hux to stop the war.

  • One of their arguments devolves into sex in a somewhat public spot on the Finalizer.

  • Kylo really likes it when Hux tells him how good he is.

Worldbuilding: Knights of Ren
I’m really fascinated by the Knights and kind of disappointed that so far the movies have not given us much about them. So I’d love to see something about how they were formed and what they do. I like the idea that they’re the students that Kylo brought with him after Luke’s school. How did they become loyal to Kylo, if they are? Or are they more loyal to Snoke? I’d really just love to see what kind of powers they have and how they use them. Especially in relation to the First Order.

Worldbuilding: Stormtrooper culture
I really just thought it would be interesting to see something about Stormtrooper culture in the Order and about their training and such. What’s it like in the Stormtrooper barracks? Are they all male humans or have they expanded since the Empire days? I like to imagine Phasma as the Stormtrooper mom, strict but nurturing bc she really does want them to succeed, but you certainly don’t have to include that. How do they feel about the Force, do they think of it as religious or political? What do they do with themselves when they're not on duty, do they have hobbies or parties or play pranks? I know there is backstory with Finn, but something after he defects or just characters that are far removed socially from him would be extra awesome. Also, I especially loved those two Stormtroopers who noped right out when Kylo was breaking shit, so I would absolutely love to see more of them.

  • The secret Stormtrooper Church of the Force and their high priestess Phasma.

  • Stormtrooper stitch 'n bitch.

[Thor (movies)]Thor (movies)
Thor was never one of my favorite Avengers or one of my favorite MCU movies, but Ragnarok totally changed my mind. It was so so good! It was fun and colorful and exciting and the characters and their relationships were so great. I loved it :D

Bruce Banner/Valkyrie | Brunhilde
I fell for this ship hard, almost immediately. I really liked that Valkyrie sort of recognized Bruce when he wasn’t the Hulk, that she knew there was something about him that she should know. I’d love to see a soulmate AU where that’s played up! I also really enjoyed their interactions when Bruce was the Hulk, so feel free to go either way with him. I see that relationship as very playful and fun, which I think is good for him. Most other people are afraid of the Hulk, or see him as some sort of wild animal, so I’m sure Valkyrie, who can certainly hold her own, was a welcome change.

  • Valkyrie recognizes her soulmate immediately, but Bruce doesn’t until he turns back from Hulk.

  • Bruce worries that he’ll hurt Valkyrie, but she shows him just how strong she is.

I got hit with a resurgence of feels for this ship after Ragnarok, and honestly I can’t even be mad. They’re such a great ship becase of all the obstacles between them, from their very different personalities and morals to growing up as brothers to Thor thinking Loki was dead for so long. I love seeing how they work past those things, or even if to them none of them actually are obstacles. They’re honestly kind of codependent, though I feel like in Ragnarok that codependence changed from them butting heads to Thor really recognizing how to deal with Loki better. And I love that, because Loki, for all his faults, is a fantastic character who deserves love even if he doesn’t believe it all the time or know what to do to get it.

  • Thor and Loki’s childish experimentation turns into something more.

  • Loki gets pregnant and has to decide if he’ll tell Odin and Frigga that Thor is the father.

  • When Thor takes the Asgardian throne, he also takes Loki as his consort.

[Voltron: Legendary Defender]Voltron: Legendary Defender
I’m not a real big watcher of animated shows, but I really enjoyed this one. The characters are really great and the different aliens and planets are a lot of fun. I’m not a big fan of Allura, so please leave her out or minimize her role if she needs to be there. I honestly don’t give two shits about the ages or age differences of any of the characters, so feel free to do whatever makes you most comfortable.

These two are just so cute and I love the (few) interactions we got between them. I would really like to see Hunk going back to visit Shay, or maybe even Shay joining them and travelling the galaxy. I think it would be fun to have Hunk showing Shay the galaxy and them hanging out with everyone else.

  • Hunk takes Shay for a ride in his lion.

  • Hunk and Shay take each other on their culture specific dates.

Keith & Kolivan, Worldbuilding: The Blade of Marmora
I’d really love to see more about the Blade of Marmora, especially from an inside POV. Keith is a great choice for that because of how closely he works with them and how being a human/Galra hybrid gives him a unique perspective. I’d love to see more of that, especially with Keith’s interactions with Kolivan. I feel like Keith really needs someone to look up to and learn from, both in a general sense and in his identity as a Galran, and Kolivan seems like a great choice for that. So what is it like on the inside, especially outside of infiltrations and battle? How does the Blade of Marmora opperate and train? How did they form in the first place?

  • Keith/Lance

This was my first ship watching the show, and I still love it a lot. Shiro is always so kind with Pidge, even when the others are wrapped up in their own shit, and I really enjoy the episodes where it’s just the two of them going off together. I think they’d have a lot of fun just hanging out or doing crazy shit together. I’m a fan of he/him pronouns for Pidge, but gender neutral or she/her pronouns are fine too. Gender queer Pidge is the best.

  • Shiro helps Pidge relax after a long day.

  • They get stuck on a deserted planet with nothing to do but wait for rescue.

  • Pidge wants to prank the other Paladins, and Shiro agrees to help.

These two had a really great dynamic and I was so sad we didn’t get more of them. I’d love fix it fic where Ulaz survives. I could see them having like a long distance relationship while Ulaz helps to try to rebuild a better Galra.

  • To bring peace to the galaxy, Shiro and Ulaz enter into an arranged marriage.

  • While Ulaz recovers from his injuries at the castle, Shiro takes care of him.

Worldbuilding: Non-military Galra Culture
We see a whole lot more soldiers in the show than scientists, but since the Galran empire is so advanced, there have to be a lot of them. I’d love to see something about their work, from tech to magic to exploration. Do they work with other races or incorporate their science? What kind of support do they have from the empire? And as for the rest of the empire, I’d really like to see how they work more deeply than what we’ve seen so far. What is civilian life like? They’re a very long lived race, so how have they changed over the years? I’m sure we’ll get more of the backstory of Galran contact with earth, but after finding out about Keith, I’m really intrigued. When did they come to earth and does anyone there know? What did they do while there?

Worldbuilding: Space Mall
This was one of my favorite episodes and I’d love to explore more of the mall. It’s like a quirky version of the ones here, but so much more exciting and interesting. But even the boring, normal stores are cool. Tell me about the little stores and restaurants and the people who run them and the people who shop there!
